#Dadbod and Yoga

Orange is so slimming, don’t you think? I seem to be tipping the scales at around 190 these days. This photo was almost twenty pounds ago. How did I do it? Well, it wasn’t yoga. No, this isn’t some bait and switch article. I had to lose the weight to gain enough confidence to get my ass into a yoga studio.
That’s when I learned that no one in my yoga studio gives a shit about my #dadbod. No one. That’s just me. Alas.
What is dad bod (#dadbod)? Wiki suggests:
Dad bod is a slang term in popular culture referring to a body shape particular to middle-aged men. The phrase has been adopted in U.S. culture as a celebration of this particular type of physique, with references generally skewing toward a positive and light-hearted tone. This masculine body type is a unique cross between muscular and overweight physiques.
It’s a bit of self-effacing humor that allows someone who was once mildly fit to own the reality that middle-age and child rearing make one gain weight. That’s just how it is. Kids and age make many gain weight. Why? Because both phenomenon (aging and parenting) are inertia producers. They cause us to slow down and become less active.
